Trying to update deductions and they will not load. Keep getting "Something went wrong error"

I'll help you with updating your employee's deductions in QuickBooks Online (QBO), cghowell.

 

You should be able to update the deductions through the employee's profile. Since you're getting an error message, you can try replicating the steps through an incognito window. It's a great place to identify issues in the browser you're using. To save you time, use these keyboard shortcuts:

 

  • Google Chrome: press Ctrl Shift N  
  • Mozilla Firefox: press Ctrl Shift P
  • Safari: press Command Shift N

 

From there, modify the employee's deductions.

 

  1. Go to the Payroll menu, then select Employees.
  2. Select the employee's name.
  3. Click on Edit or pencil icon next to Pay.
  4. Make the necessary changes.
  5. Tap Done when completed.

If it works fine, go back to your original browser and clear its cache to start fresh. You can also use another supported and up-to-date browser to narrow down the result.
