Unable to create statements in QuickBooks for Mac

Thanks for getting in touch with the Community, TeeTimes.

To verify my understanding, when you're unable to create statements, are you seeing any error messages, or selecting more than 4,500 customer records?

If you're encountering a message of some sort when you're unable to create them, I'd appreciate if you could provide a screenshot showing what you're seeing. Once I have this, I can do further research on my end.

For the time being, I'd recommend troubleshooting with your Verify Data utility. This identifies known issues within company files and informs users if their Rebuild Data tool needs to be utilized afterwards.

Here's how it's used:

  1. In the top menu bar, go to File, then Utilities.
  2. Choose Verify Data.
  3. Select OK.

If you see a "Your data has failed the integrity check" message, you'll need to rebuild your file:

  1. In the top menu bar, go to File, then Utilities.
  2. Choose Rebuild Data.
  3. Click OK.
  4. QuickBooks will ask you if you want to create a backup before rebuilding your company file. You can hit OK to proceed or Cancel to continue without backing up.
  5. Select OK once the rebuild's complete.

I've also included a detailed resource about working with the verify and rebuild utilities which may come in handy moving forward: Verify & rebuild data

I'll be looking forward to your reply. Have a great Tuesday!

Unable to create statements in QuickBooks for Mac

Hello,

I have tried the Verify Data utility. My data is good.

When trying to create statements, I have tried various methods from creating for all clients (about 40 total) to creating for just one to emailing to printing. All methods lead to the same thing, the program quits. There is no error message, the program just quits. I do send an email with the "Problem Report" associated with each incident; however, I am still unable to create a statement of any kind. I am attaching a PDF of the Problem Report created when the program quit this morning.

Unable to create statements in QuickBooks for Mac

I appreciate all your time and effort in trying to get your QuickBooks working normally, TeeTimes. I'm here to share some steps to fix the program so you can create statements smoothly.

Let's run your computer in Safe Boot mode. This will help determine if there's a conflict between QuickBooks and something installed on your computer.

Here's how:

  1. Shut down your computer.
  2. Press the Power button, then press and hold the Shif key on your keyboard until you see your Desktop.
  3. Open the desktop program and create a statement before the Crash Catcher appears.
Note: If you’re unable to reproduce the problem, this might indicate a conflict between QuickBooks and something installed on your computer.
  4. Return to normal mode by restarting your computer without pressing anything.
  5. If the issue persists in normal mode, contact an IT professional.

If your QuickBooks continues to quit or stop working, I recommend following the solution in this article: Troubleshoot Crash Catcher. Then perform Solutions 5. up to 6.

Once everything is fine, you can start creating and emailing statements to your customers. I also added a link that will aid users on how to manage billing statements, handle undercharge or overcharge, and apply a discount to name a few: Billing statement hub in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

In addition, you can also utilize the QuickBooks Desktop Mac Plus User’s Guide for future use. It contains instructions on how to handle any accounting activities in your company file.

Reach out to me again if you have additional questions about creating statements. I'll get back to help you the best that I can.

Unable to create statements in QuickBooks for Mac

This isn't a problem specific to Mac, it is common to all users.  Apparently, QuickBooks has downgraded it's functionality to limit the printing of statements to only those manually selected.  According to QB support, it was done intentionally.
