uncategorized income & expense entries

Ok....After running a VERIFY, it showed I had an error.  The error was in a transaction from way-back in 2017. I looked up the transaction and it showed $11,385 in an Uncategorized Income account and a $11,385 in an Uncategorized Expense account.  This entry was apparently made by QB at some-point after 2017, because I don't have that on any of my printed reports from that year.  The line entries were made inside of a journal entry with other line entries.  In-fact, QB re-arranged the line entries inside the journal entry different from the way I keyed them in (the numbers were still correct though).  I deleted the Uncategorized Income and Expense entries (since they were simply a debit and credit for the same amounts) and I saved my changes. I decided to Rebuild the data to make sure everything was normal--and those Entries came back......why?

Hi there, @LANDYRAY.

I appreciate you running the verify and rebuild data to fix the error. I recommend getting in touch with our support team since the uncategorized entries re-appeared. They can assist you in reviewing the log files when verifying and rebuilding data. Also, they can further check where the transactions came from and why they showed up again.

Here's how:

  1. Open your QuickBooks, and then go to the Help menu.
  2. Select QuickBooks Desktop Help.
  3. In the search bar, enter a brief description of your concern and then hit Enter in your keyboard.
  4. Click Contact us at the bottom part of the window.
