Just wanted other users to see this. Our office has a client who called to get help upgrading Desktop 23 Pro to 24. She was told they didn't make a 2024 version, and the only way she could keep her information would be to upgrade to "Enterprise Gold" at three times the price. She was lied to and taken advantage of, and called us in tears once she realized what happened. I tried to report it to the fake "help" online chat, but got the usual nothing that their "tech support" has become.
This company has a long history of hating its customers, but now it's going out of its way to take advantage of older users with little computer knowledge. I've never dealt with a company that treated its paying customers like such garbage and acted so surprised when it gets pointed out.
Your client has QB Desktop 2023. Why did she need to upgrade to QB Desktop 2024?
Hello there, @CPAAdmin.
Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and I understand how you feel about your experience with the sales support. I'll ensure to take this note to help improve your experience. Let me share and clarify some details about upgrading from QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2023.
We've decided to stop selling several products to the new US subscribers after July 31, 2024. These products are the following:
However, these changes don't impact existing subscribers. Existing QuickBooks Desktop Plus and Desktop Payroll subscribers can continue to renew their subscriptions after July 31, 2024.
QuickBooks Enterprise is not affected by QuickBooks Desktop announcement for new customers after July 31, 2024. So, for customers wishing to purchase QuickBooks Desktop software after July 31, 2024, QuickBooks Enterprise will be our Desktop accounting solution.
To learn more about the stop-selling concern of QuickBooks Desktop, check out this article: Can't buy QuickBooks Desktop as a new US subscriber.
Moreover, since discussing more about the plans and pricing of our products may include some sensitive information, I suggest contacting our QuickBooks Support Team. They can handle this type of concern.
Feel free to get back to us if you have other QuickBooks-related concerns. I'm always here to assist you.
Thanks. That was not helpful at all. You copied and pasted something that had almost nothing to do with what I said.
Because the people she works with were using 2024. Unfortunately now she has a completely incompatible system due to the lies of the sales department.
Did she upgrade to QB Desktop 2024 Enterprise Gold?
She can still upgrade to QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus or Premier Plus. Then request a refund for QB Desktop 2024 Enterprise. Ask her to contact @Fiat Lux - ASIA and they can guide her to fix the problem.
She was told that was her only option - that desktop 2024 does not exist. She was completely lied to and has already had all her information converted to "enterprise gold". This company is garbage, and they treat their customers like garbage. Our firm is actively moving as many clients to Sage as possible before they force us into the unbelievably expensive and barely functional online version. I looked at that link, but it seems to be a third party person whose links to their website and blog are fake. I'm afraid we can't trust anyone from intuit to deal with this issue since they won't even acknowledge the problem, other than the shi11y copy/paste reply above.
You can still downgrade from QB Desktop 2024 Enterprise to QB Desktop 2024 Pro Plus or Premier Plus if required. If you prefer to convert data to another program, you can use the trial version to access your historical data for good. Then you can start from scratch to lower your conversion costs.
Did you ever get your issue resolved? I have a similar concern with them and my heading was Unethical Overcharging. They declined my request for a refund of $320 for one billing and $290 for another...both for unusable software, then to add insult to injury, they duplicated my company with the same name...probably so they can double bill. One of the excuses was that I was not an authorized person in the company to request a refund!!! LOLOL!!! I am a one man business ...I am the ONLY one in the company!! Then they come up with a message rating system where you get cheers and kudos to take your mind off the nonresponsive customer service...I think they need a resuscitator!!
