Updating from QB Pro 2015 Desktop

I want a current desktop version of a QB product that will allow me to track expenses, income and write/print checks for personal use. I no longer need payroll services. I know I can get QB Pro 2020 and export my company file but I would like a less costly program that will allow me to export current company file and do as mentioned above.

I have Pro version because we had a company in the past so I did use payroll, inventory, etc. We are retired so I essentially use it as a checkbook and to track expenses etc.

I do not want an online version. Any suggestions?

Pro is the most basic version of QB Desktop.  So, you'll probably want Pro 2020.

Amazon has a good price and you can download it right after purchase:

Do you have any access to your CAMPS? It may ask the activation code when you are reinstalling it on other machine.

You may restore the backup file (QBB). Copy the file locally prior to restore it.

Thanks for bringing this inquiry to the Community, dobeluvr. I have some helpful info to share about using QuickBooks the way you're describing.

Your 2015 product can be used to track expenses/income from records you manually enter. Checks can also be written/printed for personal use. When a version is discontinued, it still has the ability to work. What it won't have is any connection to the internet, thus no Intuit services (like Payroll, Payments, etc.) can be synced with your books. If you're planning to use only entries you've made yourself, then you can proceed with what you currently have.

If you continue using your current copy, I recommend reviewing our service discontinuation policy & upgrade information article. This will go over some of the details you'll want to be aware of when using a discontinued version.

Additionally, a benefit of using your current product is that there's no need to export the company file for a new upgraded workspace. You may still want to continue backing it up though, it never hurts to have a backup saved.

In the event that you choose to upgrade, I'll be here to help. Please feel welcome to reach out any time. Have a wonderful day!

Thank you ZackE. This is good news! One more question: I will be getting a new PC soon. Will there be any issues moving Pro 2015 to a new PC? I'm planning a fresh start with a new install of all programs. I'm assuming I won't be able to re-install a discontinued program?!

Also, I do backup my company file to an external drive, flash drive, and I also use Carbonite so my data is safe.

Sorry I don't know the meaning of CAMPS.

My QB 2015 will not even open on my Mac desktop since I upgraded the OS & I get a message that says I need to contact Intuit.

How do I get QB 2015 to work on my Mac desktop?

@Jndchang01

QBD Mac 2015 is outdated. Company only supports QBD Mac 2019-2021 to run on BigSur.
