I have recently upgraded from QB Online to QB Online Payroll. Now when I log on there is only 4 items listed to the left; Payroll, Reports, Taxes, My accountant. Where is my dashboard so that I can access my business? It's as if I have a whole new account just for Payroll. Any help to correct/understand is greatly appreciated!! Thanks

Let me provide the difference between QuickBooks Simple Start and Online Payments. I'll also ensure you can select the best subscription that fits your business.
QuickBooks Simple Start is the easiest and quickest way for single users (freelancers, gig workers, solo entrepreneurs) to manage all of their income and expenses in one simple tool. With this subscription, you can invoice customers, connect bank and credit card accounts, track sales tax, and run basic financial statements. You can also connect with your accountant, making it easier at tax time.
While QuickBooks Online Payments allows you to add links to invoices so your customers can pay online. Customers can pay with PayPal, Venmo, credit card, or ACH bank transfer. All they have to do is follow the link in the email.
On the other hand, a QuickBooks Simple start cancellation scheduled for April means this subscription is no longer active after the mentioned month. Then, seems you're not subscribing to an active QuickBooks Online Payroll Core instead you've only tried the Trial one that ends next week. Then, you have active QuickBooks Online Payments on your end.
In addition, subscribing to any QBO plan depends on your business necessities. Please also know that QuickBooks Payroll is an add-on service so you will be charged separately from the standard QuickBooks subscription.
In case you need steps on how you can update or change your payment method in QBO, you can read this article: Manage billing, payment, and subscription info in QuickBooks Online.

I understand the frustration you may be feeling after upgrading from QuickBooks Online (QBO) to QuickBooks Online Payroll (QBOP), titanuplawncaret. I'm here to ensure you can access all your business data seamlessly.
QuickBooks Online and QuickBooks Standalone Payroll vary in their features and user focus. QuickBooks Online provides a broader range of accounting tools besides payroll, whereas QuickBooks Standalone Payroll concentrates specifically on managing payroll tasks. This is why you only see those items from the left menu.
If you're using a standalone payroll, we can cancel it and activate the payroll service directly within your current company file. Otherwise, you'll have to reenter those transactions in the program.
Moreover, we'll also share these articles to help you manage your payroll data:

OK, I am somewhat understanding your explanation, but I still am not sure how to fix it. Do I need to 2 QB accounts; one for payroll and one for bookkeeping? In was under the impression that I was upgrading what I had been using not that I was going to lose it. Still need answers please.
Let me address your confusion and provide a guideline concerning adding a payroll subscription to your existing company file, titan.
In QuickBooks, there’s no need for you to have two accounts for payroll and bookkeeping. We can directly activate the payroll service within your existing company file to manage them at the same time.
I can see that you have subscribed to a standalone payroll. With that, and if you don’t have any transactions yet on your payroll subscription, we can cancel this one and activate a payroll service within your QuickBooks Bookkeeping file.
Otherwise, please know that standalone payroll can't export transactions to QBO accounts bundled with payroll. Thus, you’ll have to manually reenter them again in the program.
Turn it on by following the steps below:
Before you can start using the payroll service, there are certain tasks that you’ll need to finish. With that, I’ll leave you with this article for complete guidelines: Get started with QuickBooks Online Payroll.
I always have you covered if you need further assistance in managing your subscriptions or any QuickBooks-related matters. Take care!
Thank you for helping me understand but I still have a question. What is the difference in Quickbooks Simple Start and Quickbooks Online Payments?
I realize now when I first looked into upgrading to payroll I was under the impression that I had to subscribe to Quickbooks Payroll and then cancel Qiockbooks Online. This is why I have gotten so confused. I have now canceled the stand alone Quickbooks Payroll (I think) and now when I go to subscriptions and billing in my settings, I see that I have:
I am not sure what I should do at this point. Thank you
