Username problems

Hi there, I recently changed the admin user and password on my Quickbooks premier 2017 in preparation to update it to 2020. After this change when I try to log into QB I get to the user/password screen I type my the new admin user, or admin and enter the new password and it seems to accept it but after a few seconds, it tells me the username is not a recognized user and to contact my administrator to set up a user. It does this even when I try to log onto using the default admin username. After it displays this message QB crashes. It allows me to change the username password using the password changer tool but after it still gives the same message and crashes. I was talking to a QB "expert" yesterday for hours and he was very unhelpful and didn't seem to know anything about it.

Was able to restore a backup from the day before so that solved the problem.

Some options for troubleshoot

1. Run verify/rebulid data tool

2. Delete the user profile and create a new one, including for Admin

3. Secure a bankup file (QBB) and restore it with a new name
