Video in app won't open in YouTube

To start, update QuickBooks for Mac to its latest release. This way, you can keep the software up to date and have the latest features and fixes. Here's how:

1. From the QuickBooks▼ drop-down list, select Check for QuickBooks Updates.
2. If a newer version is available, click Install Update.
3. When prompted, select Install and Relaunch.
4. When the update is complete, QuickBooks for Mac automatically opens.

Once done, click again the "Watch on YouTube" text. If you're still getting the same result, run the Verify and Rebuild Data tools. These will help us find the most common data issues in a company file and fixes them.

I updated to the current version (which I listed in my post) today before I experienced the problem.

I just verified (no problems found), and rebuilt. Quit and restarted QuickBooks. The problems persist.

 

I wonder if Intuit ever checked to see that the links work. Does it work for you?

That is a workaround that indeed works, but the videos should go to YouTube.com when the links are clicked. The suggested workaround is a bit like saying to someone who bought a car and the rear view mirror is missing, to simply look over your shoulder (obviously the scope is less in the video case).

I want to stop this from happening to you so you can watch the video seamlessly at the soonest moment, @cactibob.

Check Your Internet Connection:

Ensure that you have a stable and active internet connection. Videos may not load if you have a poor or slow internet connection.

Update the YouTube App:

Outdated versions of the YouTube app may have bugs that affect video playback. Go to your device's app store (Google Play Store for Android or App Store for iOS) and check for updates to the YouTube app. If an update is available, install it. and if not working then install revancedapp.

Thank you for the suggestion about my internet connection. I had a stable and active internet connection (with plenty of spare bandwidth) when the problem occurred (repeatedly, over time). I wrote that I was on a desktop version of QuickBooks, so the suggestion about the YouTube (mobile) app is not relevant.

It turned out to be a QuickBooks bug, which the company fixed, and all is well now.
