Where are Sales Orders?

I tried for 10 minutes to find Sales Orders. Other users here are complaining that they don't work right, so I know they exist.

Help is useless. It says they're under New +, but they're not. There's no help regarding how to turn them on.

@BigRedConsulting

Sales orders in QBO aren't the same type of sales orders you think of when you think of Desktop or traditional sales orders. They are orders pulled in from connected sales channels like Amazon, eBay, and Shopify.  You connect the sales channel by going to Sales > Sales orders.

Oh, I see. Thanks. Of course that makes no sense to me (to anyone?) but seems about on par with the rest of QuickBooks Online.

Where are Sales Orders?

Yeah, agreed.  They should have come up with a different name for it.  Maybe you want to send them some feedback….?  Just kidding.

Where are Sales Orders?

Hello @BigRedConsulting, I can definitely help you find those Sales Orders!

The ability to manually create Sales Orders in QuickBooks Online is available if you have the Plus or Advanced subscription. If you're using a different QuickBooks Online plan (like Simple Start or Essentials), you won't see the option to create them under the + New button. However, all QuickBooks Online subscriptions allow you to import and view sales orders from connected sales channels (e.g., e-commerce platforms).

Quick Check:

1. Verify your subscription: Click the Gear icon () > Account and settings > Billing & Subscription.

2. If you have Plus or Advanced: Sales Orders should be under + New. If not, let us know!
3. If you have another plan: You can still track sales orders by importing them from your sales channels. To create them manually within QuickBooks, you would need to upgrade to Plus or Advanced.

For a comprehensive guide on using Sales Orders in QuickBooks Online, including how they work with different subscription levels, check out this article: Create and manage sales orders in QuickBooks Online.

We want to make sure you can manage your sales efficiently! If upgrading is something you're considering or if you have more questions, we're here to assist.

RE: The ability to manually create Sales Orders in QuickBooks Online is available if you have the Plus or Advanced subscription.

Verify your subscription: Click the Gear icon () > Account and settings > Billing & Subscription.

I am unable to find my subscription information using your steps. These are the options I see:

@BigRedConsulting Thank you for the screenshot and for catching that update. My apologies for misspeaking!

To verify your subscription, click Subscriptions and billing under the Your Company tab.

After reviewing this thread, I reached out directly to our product team inquiring about what's going on here, and to let them know that some users are reporting missing the Sales Order functionality in QBO. I'll be staying on top of this issue and will keep you all posted with what I find out.

Thanks for bringing this to our attention - I'll circle back soon.

RE: To verify your subscription, click Subscriptions and billing under the Your Company tab.

1) There are no tabs. There are columns of links.

2) Also, I tried clicking Subscriptions and billing before I replied. There is nothing there about which subscription I have, and nothing about my company, despite the link's label.  The only content there is about my clients.

This is what I get:

@BigRedConsulting since you're using QBO Accountant, your view will be a bit different and will show your client subscriptions, as your screenshot reflects. With that being said, QBO Accountant firms should have access to all QBO Advanced features-- Including the Sales order functionality.

I've raised this issue with our product team and will circle back with an update as soon as one is available.
