Thank you for contacting us. I'm here to help you explain the requirements for receiving a 1099-K form from your customer.
The 1099-K form is designed to report payment card and third-party network transactions to the IRS. However, not everyone who processes transactions through these platforms will receive a 1099-K. There are specific thresholds set to determine who needs to report these transactions.
You will only receive a 1099-K form if the total gross amount of all reportable payments exceeds $20,000 within the calendar year and the number of transactions exceeds 200. This means that if your transactions are less than $20,000 or the total number of transactions is less than 200, you will not receive a 1099-K form from the payment processing platform.
This threshold is in place to ensure that mainly businesses or individuals with a significant volume of transactions are required to report this information to the IRS. If your transactions do not meet these criteria, you are not required to report them through a 1099-K, but remember, it's always a good practice to keep accurate records of all transactions for tax purposes.
You can download it from the Merchant Service Center.

Why did Intuit send the IRS a 1099k
Welcome back to the thread, ry-dean.
Let me provide additional clarification on how 1099k works in QuickBooks and why Intuit sends this form to the IRS. This way, I'll sure you can manage the form and have appropriate tax data on your end.
The 1099-K is an IRS informational form for you, the IRS, and certain states. Intuit QuickBooks Payments will send 1099-K to all states that require 1099-K filing. The IRS requires payment settlement entities (PSEs) such as Intuit QuickBooks Payments to report payment card and third-party network transactions. The form indicates the gross amount of reportable payments made to payees during the calendar year.
The IRS uses the information given on Form 1099-K to ensure that taxpayers correctly report their income. Inability to comply with IRS reporting requirements may result in penalties and fines. Payment settlement entities (PSEs) can be fined or penalized if they don't file Form 1099-K or file it incorrectly. This is the reason why Intuit sent the IRS a 1099K. Why is the 1099k saying I made more than on my taxes in 2022
Hello there, ry-dean.
I'm here to share additional details about the 1099-K form and help in resolving why your 1099-K form for 2022 may be higher.
The 1099-K form reports total payment transactions received through third-party payment processors. The amount on the 1099-K may be higher than what you reported on your taxes due to gross sales inclusion, reporting period differences, and non-taxable transactions.
Please review the details on your 1099-K form and compare it to your records to ensure accuracy. If you find any errors or discrepancies, I would recommend contacting the IRS for clarification or potential corrections.

I did not receive my 1099-K from Intuit. I am also having same looping issues with signing in to Intuit payments to download 1099. Can I get some help?
Let me provide some details about 1099-K and help you fix your looping issues, GadgetGirl.
The IRS is delaying the 1099-K threshold change for third-party settlement organizations (TPSO). That is the reason why taxpayers and small businesses will not receive a 1099-K from TPSOs for tax year 2023 (taxes you’ll file in 2024) unless the gross amount of reportable payments exceeds $20,000 and the number of such transactions exceeds 200. For this 2024 tax year, the IRS plans the taxes you'll file in 2025 as a transition year with a threshold of $5,000.00. You can also visit the IRS website and check out for further updates.
On the other hand, looping issues usually happen if you run browser-related problems. You can perform some troubleshooting steps so you can fix this. Use the shortcut keys below to access a private window:
This mode deletes cookies and browser history leaving your browser clean and easy to access any websites and error-free. After that, you can double-check if it is already working fine. If so, go to your main browser and clear the cache to fix the problem. Cached files and data can sometimes cause a webpage to reload. Also, some browsers have a setting that can cause a page to reload automatically. On the other hand, if it is still not working, you can switch to another supported browser.

I should have received a 1099-k for 2023 based on the $20k and transactions threshold. I have the loop when I try to sign in. How can I reach Quickbooks/Intuit to get copy of 1099-k? What is going on with Quickbooks/Intuit? There seems to be no more customer service and they are stopping so many of their well loved software and offerings.
