Why is Quickbooks Online running so slowly the past week? So slowly that pages are timing out. Cache and cookies cleared, browser up to date. Nothing helps.

Since about 10/6/22, Quickbooks Online has suddenly become horribly slow.  I'm using Chrome, my browser is up to date, I've cleared the cookies and cache (twice), my computer is only 6 months old, and my internet speed is very fast.  Every other website works quickly and without issue.  It's literally only Quickbooks online that has a problem.

Hi! I appreciate you reaching out to us, @briannatsp. Let's continue with some troubleshooting steps about the browser problem you have encountered so you can get back to business seamlessly.

There are times when the browser retains out-of-date Internet files that may cause websites to run slow on your computer, just like QuickBooks Online.

I suggest logging in to your QuickBooks Online account in another browser or using a private browser. By doing so, the issues brought on by a full cache prohibit the cache from saving your browsing data.

You can utilize these keyboard shortcuts depending on the browser you are using.

  • For Microsoft Edge, press Ctrl + Shift + P.
  • For Safari, press Command + Shift + N.
  • For Firefox, press Ctrl + Shift + P.

If this works, QuickBooks Online will function more efficiently and effectively. You may also check these articles to provide you with more information about your issue:

If the steps above are still ineffective, you can check other supported browser as alternatives.

Please reply to me again if I can be of additional help with the browser problem. We'll always be here to assist. Have a great day!

Actually, @FateCandylaneT   If you search through a few more threads, you'll see that they have supposedly opened an investigation, due to so many complaints about it running slow.

@briannatsp  There is no reason to waste your time on all the "trouble shooting".  QB is aware of the issue.  I would suggest getting in contact with them and getting added to the affected user list. (Sorry, I don't have an inv #)

Thank you both for the info.  I'll get on the affected users list.  I'm really happy to hear that QB realizes its a bigger issue on their end.
