I have a client who was utilizing PO's and inventory tracking. I adjusted the quantities of inventory to 0, inactivated all products and turned off the inventory tracking. I am now editing the bills to record the expenses in the appropriate accounts. I am able to do this for some bills, but not all. I keep receiving the message: "Something's not quite right, You need to activate this item before updating the quantity". These expenses are either going to COGS or supplies. I've tried to clear my browser's cache and cookies. I'm not sure why I'm receiving this error give I inactivated everything and turned off inventory tracking.
Good afternoon bparkins,
Nice to see you in the Community! This is truly an interesting case, and I appreciate your efforts in clearing the cache and so forth. Could you edit the bills to record the expenses with the items activated first and then deactivate them afterward to see if you're receiving the error message?
I will be looking forward to your response! I will be here to assist further and hopefully find a solution. Take care and see you later.
I'm still working on cleaning up the books for this company, before I'm able to go back and try your solution. However, my concern with your solution is by reactivating the products, making adjustments and deactivating again - this will only further muddy the water with shrinkage given I've already deactivated the products once. Lastly, reactivating and deactivating seems like a timely exercise if nothing is resolved.
It appears that the reactivating the product seems to be allowing the changes to be made. Unsure yet if this will impact inventory shrinkage already calculated as part of the initial deactivation.
Hey bparkins,
I hope all is well. I just wanted to check in and see if you could see if your inventory shrinkage has been impacted or if everything is working smoothly now.
I am looking forward to your response! Take care.
