Accepting payments

I have been with QuickBooks for years along with accepting credit card payments.

All the sudden I cannot accept any payments and will not allow me to link my accounts.  I have not changed banks nor changed accounts.  I keep getting that I am not eligible for payments. I have verified my bank again with 2 small deposits. I am at the end of my rope.  My clients are frustrated they can not pay their invoices. Has anyone experienced this?

Accepting payments

Hello there. I can see how much you would want to get back to business and accept credit card payments from your customers.

Let me share some information about our payment processing services in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Our Merchant Services has its eligibility requirements which in any case the following apply to you, you are ineligible (or may become ineligible) to use our services.

Here's the list of some reasons why you're unable to activate the online payment feature:

  • Types of products you sell
  • Industries that are categorized as high-risk merchants such as Guns and Firearms Manufacturing, Bankruptcy Services, Debt Collection, Adult Services, and such.
  • Credit History

Refer to this article to know more about the prohibited activities, business types, transactions, and users: Intuit Payments Acceptable Use Policy.

If you find out you're eligible but still got declined, I'd recommend getting in touch with our Payment Support Team to further review your application. Be sure to contact them within their business hours (M-F 6 AM to 6 PM PT) to get assistance right away.

I'd be pleased to narrow down the steps how:

  1. Go to the Help icon and select Contact us in the Search tab.
  2. From the What can we help you with field, enter "QB Payments Application".
  3. Click on Continue.
  4. Choose either Appointment, Callback, or Chat.

Additionally, feel free to browse through this article to view different answers to the most frequently asked questions about QuickBooks Payments: QuickBooks Payments FAQ.

Keep your post coming if you've got additional questions about processing payments in QBO. I'll be right here to assist you further. Take care.
