best option to print checks from qb online-quickbooks or third party software

Hi there, Roxann.

I'm here to share information about printing checks in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

While we're ineligible to suggest third-party apps that you can print checks with, you can check out our QuickBooks App Store and find an application you can use.

However, I've got some steps to print checks in QuickBooks Online (QBO) that you may find more convenient. Here's how:

Step 1: Set up QuickBooks to print checks

Before printing a check, make sure you go through the print checks setup. So your printer and your checks line up.

You can also choose to print using your own checks, but it still needs to be formatted for QuickBooks. Or you can order QuickBooks compatible checks from Intuit.

Step 2: Add checks to the print queue

When recording a new check, you can choose to print your checks at once by selecting the Print later checkbox or the Print check option to add it to the print queue.

Step 3: Print checks from the print queue.

  1. On your QBO account, click on +New, then select Print checks.
  2. Load your checks into the printer. Tip: You can do a test print on plain paper first to check the alignment so you don’t waste checks.
  3. Select the checking account that you created the check from the dropdown.
  4. In the Starting check no. field, enter the check number of the first check in the printer.
  5. Tick the checkbox next to each check you want to print.
  6. Select Preview and print.
  7. If everything is correct, click Print.
  8. If your checks prints correctly, select Done.

Moreover, I'll also share this article that can serve as your reference if your want to get help with common printing issues when using QBO: Fix QuickBooks Online printing issues on browsers for Windows.

Feel free to leave a reply if you need further assistance with printing checks in QBO. The Community team always has your back. Have a good one.
