Hello there, @tom_mericle.
I want to ensure this is taken care of, but before I do, may I know if what is your company email address? This way, I can give you the right information.
Additionally, you can always check out our Community Help Articles to work with QuickBooks Online.
If there's anything else I can help you with concerning QuickBooks Online, please feel free to visit the Community again. I'm always here to assist.
I figured out that only Gmail accounts can be used as an alternative for outgoing invoice emails; which is a bummer.
Tom
I'm truly not sure why knowing the company email address (domain) would matter. Most of us have our own company domain names and email addresses that "AREN'T" gmail accounts? We're company owners and administrative support personnel that have our own corporate (non-gmail) email addresses.
Example (removed that at sign so it can be seen):
invoicing AT companydomain.com
This issue with outgoing email is actually a big issue for most of us and it seems like is should be a simple fix in the grand scheme of things. Bottom line is that we want our customers to receive emails/invoices from us not you?

This is a basic function that the software needs to fix immediately.
QB Desktop has properly handled emailing invoices.
Emails going to customers from a Quickbooks default address causes several issues some of which are:
1. Invoice goes to SPAM
2. If we type in the recipient's email incorrectly, we will never receive the error message because it will return to QB who will not notify us.
3. The option of using a GMAIL account as the 'from address' is COMPLETELY unprofessional. Businesses use their name as their email, not GMAIL. That makes the client and their server look for another email address to receive correspondence and may still end up in SPAM as a result.
4. The invoice is NOT in our business email as a sent item so that it can be re-sent to the customer should they need to see when it was originally sent.

The product engineers already have this information.
Please expedite.
We're already using this 'workaround' however, the product should function correctly.
Hi Integrated,
Thank you for joining the conversation and for listing some consequences of not having the option to use your email as a sender. Let me add some points based on those.
As of the moment, we're unable to change the "From" email, unless you have a Gmail account. Yes, there's a chance an invoice will end up in the SPAM folder, but your customers can add quickbooks@notification.intuit.com to their exemption list or trusted addresses if they have that option.
About entering the wrong email, your Invoice page will display a delivery report below the payer's name, indicating whether it was sent or not.
As for using a Gmail account, I understand that most businesses use their business name as a domain. Having Gmail is only an option provided for those who have this email provider.
If you need to resend your invoice, you'll want to open it and send it like how you would normally send this transaction.
On the other hand, I appreciate your effort to send feedback about this matter. All we can do now is wait for changes as we're unable to rectify this particular request.
I also want to add that you can find articles on the main support page, should you need quick references in the future.
Let me know if you have any other concerns about QuickBooks. Take care and have a great day.
I am shocked that there is no true work around for this, more shocked that QB isn't working on implementing a change. Does anyone know if there is some sort of 3rd party app or integration that would allow for using your own domain's email address?
Sending invoices using GMAIL is NOT a solution. Businesses know that a business email with their NAME not GMAIL domain is what makes them stand out as a professional in their field. If Verizon uses QBO should they send out their bills from a GMAIL account???
This was a BASIC feature of the desktop product. Bring back the basics of sending an invoice with the business email as the return address using a subject that the customer can recognize (i.e. Invoice from [company name]).
i am also looking for this option now
cant undestand quickbook
let go back to quickbooks desktop
I'm here to help you send feedback about changing the outgoing email address, @YEEK.
To better assist you with your concern in QuickBooks Online (QBO), can you please provide more details about the specific problems you're encountering? Doing so will allow us to offer a more targeted and effective response.
Regarding the outgoing email address, QBO uses the email address associated with your login for sending transactions and other communications. As a workaround, you can download your transactions as PDF files and manually send them using your preferred email service.
Moreover, to have the ability to use your personal email, I suggest submitting your request directly to our product engineers for them to analyze and include this feature for future updates.
