Company hired someone to do a new services.

When a company offered a new services I know I need to add a new item and if a new customer comes to the company wanting the new services I Need to add the new customer. But when a company hired someone to do the new services for the new customer where should I add the hired  ? Is it vendor ? I'm a little confused

Hello,

 

It all depends on HOW this person will work for the company.  

 

If they are an actual employee where the company will withhold taxes from their check, they need to be set up as an employee.

 

If they are a contractor that will be in charge of filing their own taxes, then they need to be added as a vendor/contractor so you can give them a 1099 at the end of the year if they meet the threshold.
