Copying estimates

Before this update, we could copy an estimate and use it for a different customer.  When trying to select a new customer now, it will not go beyond customers with the last name starting with “C”.  What am I doing wrong?

Copying estimates

Hi there, rvconsultation.

Using the new layout in QuickBooks Online, you'll still be able to make a copy of your estimates. I can help you how to create a copy.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Sales. Then, select Estimates.
  2. Choose any estimate you want to make a copy with.
  3. Under the Action column, click Edit.
  4. On the transaction, click Manage
  5. Click the Actions dropdown arrow. Then, select Make a copy.

I've also added a screenshot for your visual reference.

Regarding selecting new customers, there are no limitations in choosing one, unless the customer you want to add has already been added to your QBO. If not, you can add a new customer.

Here's how:

  1. On your estimate, click the Add customer dropdown.
  2. Select Add new.
  3. Enter the necessary information. Then, click Save.

However, if you already added it, then the same thing happens. I recommend doing browser troubleshooting steps . Sometimes, cache-related can cause QuickBooks not to work properly.

Here are some common steps that can resolve unexpected results in QBO:

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl + Shift + N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl + Shift + P
  • Safari: Command + Shift + N

If you can successfully log in using a private browser, go back to your regular browser and clear its cache. If not, you can use a different supported browser.

After your customer accepts your estimates, you can convert them into an invoice. This way, you'll save time in creating an invoice.
