correcting a misspelled deduction code

Thanks for checking out the Community space. I understand the importance of maintaining accurate records and consistent financial information, murano8310.

I'm here to assist you and ensure we're aligned on the specific deduction code you're referring to. To clarify, is this deduction item related to insurance, HSA (Health Savings Account), FSA (Flexible Spending Account), retirement plans, garnishments, or advances? If so, you can follow these steps to correct the misspelled details.

  1. Go to the Payroll menu.
  2. Head to the Employees, then open the worker profile.
  3. From the Deductions & contributions section, select Edit.
  4. Click the Pencil icon next to the deduction.
  5. Make the necessary changes.
  6. Select Save, then Done.

Note that if you modify the name or description, it will be updated for all employees as well as past paychecks. On the other hand, if it's a deduction account set up in the COA, here's how to modify it:

  1. Go to the Accounting menu.
  2. Select Chart of Accounts.
  3. Click the drop-down arrow from the Action column and choose Edit.
  4. Update the details, then hit Save and Close.
