COVID-19 ONLINE INVOICE CUSTOMER GRATUITY

This is to the Quickbooks Community Team. I have searched high and low for the answer to my question of why the gratuity option is not available for customers who pay invoices online. I can only find that it is NOT an option. My question is WHY is it not an option? It seems to be something that many businesses would find helpful. I do not want to ask my clients to give me a tip or ask how much they want to pay. I understand there are workarounds, but I pay a lot of money for this product and would like to know that my needs are being met. I don't want a canned answer about how to use the sales receipt feature, either. We have stopped taking money in person due to Covid-19 and want our clients to see an automated option to add a tip when I email them an invoice. Currently, I have a note attached to the invoice that says if they want to leave a tip, they just have to change the payment amount, but that still, to me, looks like I am fishing for tips. That is no way to do business and I would like a timeline for when this will be resolved. I would also like to hear from small business owners how the new way of doing business is going.  Thank you.

Currently, the option to add an automated tip column in the Invoices page is unavailable. Rest assured, we are working to see the best options to provide to our customers at this time of struggle. As a workaround, we can utilize an attached note to the invoice. 

 

I understand the importance of this feature for you and your business. Rest assured, that our engineer's team is working hard to resolve it and provide the best product to fit your business.

Is there a timeline for this fix or is it just going to be an ongoing issue for us? I just had to send a client a second invoice because he forgot to change the total amount to include the tip. Then he said it wouldn't allow him to change the amount so I had to send him another one. All that trouble for $10. It's a good thing he is a good customer. It was a fiasco. I am just concerned that we will have to continue this clunky process for a long time and want to know if we will actually see a change or not. I understand you are just the messenger, but I would love to speak to a developer on this. It doesn't seem like that much of a code change, but if it is, I would like to know so I can stop worrying about it. Thanks.

  1. Go to the Help menu.
  2. Select Contact Us.
  3. In the dialogue box, enter a brief description of your concern.
  4. Click Let's talk.
  5. Choose to Get a Callback.
  6. Input the necessary information for your request to be processed.

COVID-19 ONLINE INVOICE CUSTOMER GRATUITY

I would very much like this option added. I've missed out on a lot of gratuity because there is no option for my customers to add some. I'm a service based business and gratuity is a substantial amount of income. If this can't be fixed in a timely manner, I'll be disconnecting my merchant services with quickbooks and using 3rd party options that allow gratuity add on.

Seconding this request. Had a customer mention to me that I should have an option in my billing system for them to select a tip amount; that with the work that I do for my customers, that they would happily tip me, increasing my earnings significantly. Please add this!
