I tried manually keying in a customer's credit card and it said the transaction failed, so I tried again and said failed again. However, now the customer has two pending payments in his bank account. How could he have pending payments if the transaction failed, and how do I fix this for the customer?
Hi there, axehead15.
Let me share some insights about your situation.
There are a few possible reasons why a customer's credit card gets declined. This can be caused by an authorization problem or missing information.
You'll want to ask your customer to contact their credit card company to verify the status of the payment.
To check if the failed payment is in QuickBooks, you can follow these steps:
For tracking the failed payment, you can follow the steps in this article: Handle a rejected or failed bank transfer payment.
Otherwise, contact our Merchant Service Team for further assistance. You can click the Chat with us link here.
I'm also adding this guide to learn about the other ways on how you can process the payment: Fix customer's declined credit card payments.
Please let me know if there's anything else you need. I'm always here to help. Take care and stay safe.
Thank you for your reply.
I made sure everything was all set in those settings. But ultimately, the money was never taken from his bank account, so I just sent an invoice from QBO instead. All paid now. Will continue to work on making sure my QB Payments is set up properly. Just ordered a card reader.
