Fees for online payments

Hello @MJS8, I am happy to provide you with some information about ACH payments and processing fees in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

QuickBooks Payments charges a fee each time you process a transaction. This fee varies depending on how the transaction is processed. If the card is swiped, the fee is 2.4%. If the transaction is invoiced, the fee is 2.9%. For transactions that are keyed, the fee is 3.4%. ACH payments have a charge of a 1% fee (with a maximum of $10) on each transaction.

How do I talk to someone about the possibility of lowered fees.  I am speaking with a processing companies that tells me they can lower fees to 2% or less.  I like convenience of processing thru QB but that is a huge savings

Let me connect you to our support and check if you qualify for discounts to get the best rates for transaction fees with QuickBooks Payments, @LadderPort.

To determine if your account qualifies for discounts, I'd recommend requesting a rate review with our Payments Support Team. They have the tools to determine if you've met the following requirements for discounts or fees.

Here's how to contact them through QuickBooks Online:

  1. Sign in to your company account.

  3. Select the Search tab, then enter Contact Us.
  4. Click on it and select your preferred way to connect:

Hello, 11204. Allow me to ensure you're pointed in the right direction to review this payment.

The standard fee for QuickBooks ACH payments is around 1% of the transaction amount, often with a cap per transaction, depending on the specific payment pricing on the account.

Since you mentioned that your client paid his invoice through ACH and you were charged 3%, I recommend contacting our Payments Support team so they can review your merchant pricing and that specific transaction in detail.

Here's how to connect with them:

  1. Inside QuickBooks Online, go to the Help menu.
  2. Select the Assistant and type "Talk to an expert".
  3. Enter a keyword or topic about your concern.
  4. Choose a way to connect with us.

You can refer to this article to view our support hours and choose a convenient time to connect: Get help with QuickBooks products and services.

If you have any further questions or need additional support, please don't hesitate to reply.
