Join nowHello! Our little company sends a lot of paper checks out for invoice payments from our copy of QB Desktop Pro 2018, and we've done so for years from it and earlier versions. When those checks actually show up has been a bit of an issue. Its been a bit of a nailbiter sometimes, wondering when the check will arrive so the power does not get cut off. So, is there anyway to speed up the sending of paper checks, some sort of setting or option we're missing? Yes, I know ACH is better, but not all our vendors take that yet. LMK if anything can be done, thanks!

I suspect you're using online banking payments. Sound correct? It's often presented as if you're sending using your bank account, but I think it is an Intuit service on the back end.
If so, I don't think there is any way to get it to be faster.
Hello Millworker,
For now, the ability to send paper checks through QuickBooks isn't possible. You'll have to do it manually. I'll send it as a product feature request to our engineers instead. They'll look into it, and see if they can add it in our future updates.
Let us know if you have any questions. Thanks!
I suppose I phrased my question badly. When we issue payments, a check is cut (somewhere) and mailed to the intended vendor (one way or another, not by us). It seems a pretty standard part of the Desktop Pro version of QB since we've done if for years. I'm sorry that offhand I do not recall the name of this specifc feature as I'm the guy that enters payments in for payment, and the owner actually approves and issues the payments, which go out as a paper check (again, printed somewhere, and mailed for us by Intuit/QB to the vendor). In QB, we can see the Check#, and the estimated date of delivery. And we can see if the check has cleared. Do you know what I'm talking about?
It is this feature that we'd like to speed up, somehow. My question is: can that be done?
Hello Millworker,
Thanks for coming back.
You're might be using a third-party app that can sends out checks to vendors. If you can recall the name of that feature, that'd be much appreciated. This way, I can double check here in my end to see if it's still available in QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2018.
Let me also route you to our Intuit Apps Center where you can find a lot of apps that can do this feature. Just click on this link and select Track Expenses from the Categories options.
I'll be right here to help you more.

Yes, I checked with the boss, and thats the one we're using.
Ok, thanks. I suspected there was little we could do to speed it up.
