If I have QuickBooks Simple Start. Do I still need Self Employed

It depends on your specific needs and how you plan to use the software, @DAP6668. QuickBooks Online Simple Start and QuickBooks Self-Employed are two different subscriptions.

QuickBooks Simple Start is a great option for small businesses that need basic accounting features such as invoicing, expense tracking, and financial reporting. On the other hand, QuickBooks Self-Employed is designed for freelancers and independent contractors who need to track their income and expenses and pay estimated taxes.

If I have QuickBooks Simple Start. Do I still need Self Employed

I purchased Quickbooks Simple Start, but I don't know which one. There a Quickbooks Simple Start under the Self Employed Plan and a Quickbooks Simple Start under Small Business. I already looked under my account settings and it just says "Quickbooks Simple Start". I am a sole proprietor and run a small business. I hire independent contractors once in a while. I will have to file a Schedule C. I am trying to figure out if I purchased the correct plan.

I also was supposed to have access to a one-time service help for Live Bookkeeping SetUp. I see that on my account settings, but do not know how to access it. Any advice?

If I have QuickBooks Simple Start. Do I still need Self Employed

Hi there, CCeppas.

You can go to the billing center to check what subscription you've purchased, and I'm here to show you how. You can visit this link and sign in your Intuit QuickBooks account: https://app.qbo.intuit.com/app/billing

To discern whether you have the correct version of QuickBooks Simple Start for your business needs as a sole proprietor who hires contractors and files a Schedule C, let's examine the differences between these plans:

  1. QuickBooks Self-Employed:
    • Specifically designed for freelancers and independent contractors.
    • Tracks income and expenses, calculate quarterly taxes, and facilitates Schedule C preparation.
    • Limited to scalability and features for payroll or advanced accounting needs compared to QuickBooks Online.
  2. QuickBooks Online Simple Start (Small Business):
    • Suitable for small businesses and sole proprietors. It includes one-time service help for Live Bookkeeping setup.
    • Includes features for tracking income/expenses, managing invoices, and generating reports.
    • Provides more comprehensive features suitable for businesses with employees or contractors, such as filing 1099 forms to contractors.

You can schedule and manage appointments with your bookkeeper using your computer browser by following the steps below:

  1. Sign in to your QuickBooks Online account.
  2. Select Live Bookkeeping
  3. In Live Bookkeeping, select Schedule appointment.
  4. Enter the necessary details and select an appointment time.
  5. You’ll get a confirmation email and SMS message that your appointment is booked.

Moreover, you can also schedule an appointment using your QuickBooks Online mobile app.
