Activating the late fees feature is the simplest method to create late fees on your customers when generating invoices, Lena22.
Once the late fees are enabled, they will automatically apply to overdue invoices in QuickBooks Online. While QBO allows for automatic late fees applied directly to invoices, you can still create individual late fee invoices if you prefer to manage them manually.
All you'll need to do is create a service item and apply it to the invoices manually. Once done, you can now create an invoice for the late fees.
- In the left menu, click the + New button.
- Select Invoice.
- Select the customer from the drop-down.
- In the Product/Service column, select Late fee.
- Enter the amount and necessary information, then click Save and close or Save and send.
