Customer purchases a pair of shoes for $100

Customer then finds shoe for $70 elsewhere

I'd like to offer the customer a store credit for $30 for the next purchase without doing a return or exchange etc...

Yes, it's possible. You can record a customer's credit. Follow the steps below:

1. Go to the Make a Sale screen.
2. Click to open the customer's profile. 
3. Select the Account button and enter the amount as a negative number (-30) in the Charge Amount field.
4. Click Save.
