POS v.19 Apple Pay

We were told/sold v. 19 with the understanding that we could accept Apple Pay and other contactless payments.  Yet there seems to be no way to set this up.  Can anyone help.  Intuit is useless in helping on this issue.

POS v.19 Apple Pay

Hi there, Clever Girl Inc,

I know this wasn't an easy process for you. Let me help ensure you're able to give customers more payment choices with QuickBooks Point of Sale.

You can handle any of the latest contactless and mobile payments, like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay. To start with the setup, you'll first need to have a QuickBooks Payments account. Doing this will allow you to accept bank transfers/ACH, Apple Pay, and credit cards.

Let me show you how:

  1. Go to the File menu and click Setup Interview.
  2. Select the Payments tab.
  3. Choose Yes in the Would you like to accept credit and debit cards? section.
  4. Click Activate Now to learn more about the various Payments plans.
  5. Call the number provided to finish applying.

You may refer to this page in case you need a number to call: Sign up for QuickBooks Payments. Scroll down and go to Sign up by phone for the information.

You can also call our POS team to help you connect to Apply Pay. Please visit the Take contactless payments, right in QuickBooks POS link to get the number.

Let me know how the contact goes by commenting below. I'm always right here whenever you need additional information.

POS v.19 Apple Pay

As per the link below QB POS 19.0 is enabled to Process contactless payments right in QuickBooks POS—including NFC and tap-to-pay options like Apple Pay, Google Pay, and Samsung Pay.

If you are still not able to resolve it the Let me know and I can give you step by step instructions.

POS v.19 Apple Pay

I have v19 and the Ingenico Lane5000 working with chipped and magnetic strip cards but I have not been able to get the contactless payment option to work.  Whenever a customer tries to use a card with NFC the Lane5000 reads the card and then says "Payment Cancelled".  Is there something additional that needs to be setup to enable contactless payments?

Hello @Corkncap,

Since you're still unable to receive contactless payment and received an error, I'd recommend contacting our Customer Care Support, they have the tools to pull up your account, securely, and create a ticket to be submitted to our engineering team for further investigation.

To do so, you can follow the instruction stated on the first section of this article to connect with our dedicated specialists: Contact Payments Support.

Additionally, I've also included this helpful article for a compilation ot the commonly asked question while working with your payments account: QuickBooks Point of Sale (POS) FAQ.

If you have any other concerns, please let me know by leaving any comments below. I'll be here to lend a hand. Stay safe!

POS v.19 Apple Pay

I have been able to get Apple Pay to work reliably if and only if I have rung everything up, picked the "credit" button in Quickbooks POS v19, and then "authorize now" BEFORE the customer attempts to use their device for payment.  The device needs to be held steady at the top of the Lane/5000 pinpad where the backlit tap logo is until the pinpad "dings".  This also applies to cards with NFC "tap and go" chips as well.  I find my customers literally "tapping" the pinpad with their card and pulling it away before it reads, causing an error.  They also need to wait until the cashier is ready and hold the card steady over the backlit tap logo until it dings.

Another thing most people don't know is that there is a maximum dollar amount that can be run using tap that is lower than the normal transaction limit for the card.  I believe that maximum amount is $100.

I'm here looking for this info because we got an error message a few times saying out contactless limit had been reached. They were trying to pay a transaction over $100.

This is a pretty low threshold. Does anyone know if  this limit be changed?
