QB for Mac Desktop - Checks printing in reverse numerical order

I use a brand new HP Pagewide printer.  I feed the checks into the sheet feeder face DOWN and Head First.  They print perfect.  EXCEPT in opposite numerical order.  Is there a setting I need to change.??

QB for Mac Desktop - Checks printing in reverse numerical order

Hello, AJROVSTER.

I can give details about print checks in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

Currently, the option to sort printing preference to reverse numerical order or vice versa is unavailable. If you want to change the formatting style when printing a check, you can change it under the Check Preferences section. I'll show you how.

     1.  Choose QuickBooks, then select Preferences.

     2.  On the Preferences pane, click Checks.

     3.  Set the preference as described below:

  • Print account names on the voucher: Payee, Date, Account name(first 16 lines), Memo(first 16 lines), Amount(first 16 lines), and Total amount.
  • Change check date when a check is printed.
  • Start with the payee field on the check. You can position the text cursor so that the name of the payee is the first option will appear.
  • Warn about duplicate check numbers.
  • Default accounts to use in these forms.

For more details, you can follow the steps under the QuickBooks for Mac 2020 User's Guide on page 265. For QuickBooks Desktop 2019, you can use this link: QuickBooks Desktop for Mac 2019 User’s Guide and go directly to page 253.

You can also reach out to our QuickBooks Team to further assist you with the setup. They'll be able to do a screen sharing to guide you on the process.

In addition, I've included this article for future guidance: Set up online banking for QuickBooks Desktop for Mac. Here you can find detailed steps to connect your bank to QuickBooks.

Let me know if you have further questions or concerns about printing the check. I'll be more than happy to share additional insights and help you.

Not sure you understood the question.  All you did was advertise for Intuit and cut and paste from the user guide.  It very helpful at all, especially since you addressed a topic I wasn’t asking about.

Hello, @RovsterAJ

Thanks for following up with us and letting us know that the steps above aren't working for you.

I think I see what's going on here. It sounds like you may have your printing settings set to Reverse instead of Normal. You can see the screenshot example I've included below to reference.

Let's take a look into these settings to see if that's the cause of your issue.

Here's how to navigate to the settings:

  1. Go to the File menu and choose Print Forms. Then click on Checks
  2. Select your checks, then tap on Print
  3. Then you'll choose Normal instead of Reverse as I mentioned before.

Please let me know if this works for you. I'll be sure to keep an eye out for your response. Take care!
