I just printed my 1099 Misc forms, and all of the Box 6 (medical payments) printed in Box 4 (federal income tax withheld). I double checked the mapping, and it is correct. Everything is mapped as Box 6, nothing is mapped as Box 4. Does anyone know how to fix this, or if not, has anyone found a workaround? If QuickBooks can't print these, I have no plan B of how to get them printed.
If anyone else has this problem, it was fixed for me by using a different computer with a different printer. It wasn't an alignment issue -- everything else on the form was right on the line and this was an inch higher. Changing the alignment would have put the TIN numbers and address an inch too low. Maybe it was the printer or the PDF viewer or some QB issue only on that computer. But it works now.
Good luck!
Quick update for anyone else with this problem:
It's not the printer. I have successfully printed 1099 Misc to that printer now without issue. My best guess is that it's the version of Adobe Reader/Acrobat on that computer.
The problem turned out to be that we were printing 1099 NEC vendors on the 1099 Misc form. So make sure you're using the Misc forms with the Misc vendors and the NEC forms with the NEC vendors. Easy to grab the wrong forms and not realize it. Ugh.
