ACH Customer Payments - Hold times

On April 4, 2019 QB informed me that a customer had paid me using the ACH.

The "Paid Date" was listed as April 5, 2019.

Today, April 11 (6 days later) QB informed me that "Your money is on the way."

The money left my customer's account on April 5th and it is now "on the way" and "Your funds should be available in 1 to 2 business days (this can vary from bank to bank)."

Presuming that it is my bank that is causing the 1-2 business day delay, what has Intuit been doing with my money for the past 6 days?

ACH Customer Payments - Hold times

Thanks for letting me know about this, @Rob971.

Allow me to provide some information about the funding time for ACH transactions in QuickBooks Online Payments.

QuickBooks bank transfer (ACH) payment deposits can take 2-7 business days. However, the waiting period varies depending on the following scenarios:

  • The time when you enter these transactions.
  • The financial institution to deposit the funds.
  • Bank policies for verifying and processing electronic deposits.

To learn more about the funding time of QuickBooks Payments, you may read through these articles:

If the payments haven't been deposited within the given time frame, I'd suggest getting in touch with our Merchant Services Department. This team is the best resource for such inquiries, as they're able to pull up your account information securely, while this is a public forum. Once they have this information, they'll be able to further assist with determining the details of the transaction and why it hasn't been deposited into your account.

This should get you pointed in the right direction.

Don't hesitate to reach back out to me if you have any other questions with QuickBooks Payments. I'm always here to help. Have a great day.

You wrote: "QuickBooks bank transfer (ACH) payment deposits can take 2-7 business days. However, the waiting period varies depending on the following scenarios:..."

Here is what I know:

1) On April 5, 2019 the money left my client's bank account.

2) April 11 (6 days later) QB informed me that "Your money is on the way."

3) It is after April 11 that my bank gets involved.

I'm not talking about when my bank or my client's bank is involved.

I am talking about the 6 days in which Intuit holds onto the money.

I would like an answer that addresses that period of time.

I don't want an answer that is cut and paste out of the QB database of answers.

That answer is not an answer to my question.  It is an answer that attempts to shift the conversation to the bank holding periods.  I am not talking about the bank holding periods.

I am talking about the Intuit holding periods.

Please answer that question.

Thank you.

Hi @Rob971,

I personally want to clearly address your concern regarding the processing turnaround time of your money. The QuickBooks bank transfer (ACH) payment deposits that take 2-7 business days.

First, the processing days depends on the exact time of when did you create your transactions. In addition, it follows a certain deposit schedule from your financial institution and policies to verify your electronic payments before processing it.

Meanwhile, I encourage giving our QuickBooks Payments team a call. They can specifically review the transactions related to your money and give you more details of its processing.

ACH Customer Payments - Hold times

I sent, through bill pay, two ACH payments to a contractor on 8/3 and 8/4, they have yet to receive them on 8/11. I have talked to 6 agents and 2 real people and no one can say when they will release the funds. It is unreasonable. They say that they are trying to protect from fraud but they have no way to reach out to either party, and they have no way to accept calls from the payer, even though I am a merchant client with them, as well.

  4. Please type a short description of your query and then hit Let's talk.
  5. Choose to Start a chat or Get a callback.
