I just want to add my support to the sentiment that it sucks we are charged $10 now and it's screwing a lot of businesses up. Feels like a bait and switch to offer it free and then force $10 per transaction on us after we have our workflow down. I'd rather the subscription just cost a bit more also, but I see how QB wants to advertise it at a lower price and get people hooked. Really sucks though and makes me want to switch off, so I want QB to at least digest our feelings on the matter before I do that.
Try using: https://www.meliopayments.com/
It's a fairly new company with a minimal viable product. Sending payments via ACH is free. They make money if paid via credit card. Checks and ACH are free.
Try https://www.meliopayments.com/
ACH/Sending Checks = Free
Credit Card payments = 2.9%
Tried to implement it at our company, but owner doesn't like the redundancy of double entry.
Hope this helps everyone.
If you are running a B2B company, Melio is one of the options to receive ACH payments for free.

Otherwise, consider a 3rd party merchant service to integrate with QB Desktop or QB Online. They offer a lower ACH fee than QB Payments
Hello
I work with PayorCRM which provides an AR software that has a seamless integration with QBO and provides ACH at half the price. We also have a $0 subscription/month option if you have large transaction volumes. Let me know if that would help
Using QB on-line, I'm set up to receive a customer payment via ACH transfer. One day it works, the next day it doesn't. My customer receives an error saying, "payment declined, please select a different method." When I call QB, the representative says, "the system doesn't like their bank." This does not seem like a reasonable answer to me. Why would they accept the payment one day... and not the next?
I recognize this was challenging on your part, @jgl1955. What we can do is, call our support team again in QuickBooks Online for account validation.
Since we haven't access to your accounts, our phone representative has available devices to view the status of your ACH payment account.
With that, I urge you to call our support team again to investigate this further.
Here's how:
If you decide to change your bank account for QuickBooks payments, I have this link that guides you along the process: Change the deposit bank account for QuickBooks Payments.
I'll be here if you have other concerns with your ACH payment. Let me know in the thread below.
