Adding convenience fee

I'd be glad to help you set up and add a convenience fee in QuickBooks. 

The automatic feature of applying a convenience fee in QuickBooks is not available. In some cases, your business can charge customers a convenience fee for using a credit card.

However, there are rules, exceptions, and state laws to ensure that you stay compliant with the terms of your merchant processing agreement. 

In the meantime, you can add a convenience fee in the invoice line item manually. I'll show you how: 

1. Go to the Gear icon. 
2. Select Products and Services under Lists. 
3. Select the New button and choose Service.
4. Enter the name of the service item (Convenience Fee).
5. Choose the account used for the convenience fee.
6. Click Save and Close.

Here's how:
 

1. Select the Gear icon at the top, then Feedback.
   
2. Enter your comments or product suggestions then select Next.
3. You'll be provided a list of suggested Help articles related to your comment. You can read through them or select Skip and send a message.
4. From the drop-down, choose the appropriate category, then select Send a message.

My question is can we do this using a percentage vs. a set amount.  Say I want to charge a 3% convenience  fee instead of a set rate of x amount of money??
