Hello there, Yokoyama. I know how inconvenient this is. I'm here to ensure your AMEX credit card is connected accurately with your QuickBooks Self-Employed (QBSE) account.

Before anything else,  I'd like to ask what the specific error you've encountered on your screen is. I would highly value you giving more details so we can provide an accurate response, such as a screenshot is very much appreciated.

In the meantime, we can refresh the bank connectivity to restore the connection between your bank and your QBSE account. To begin, here's how:

  1. Sign in to QuickBooks Self-Employed.
  2. Select the Gear icon and then Manage accounts.
  3. Select Refresh all.

If the same thing happens, let's check if it's a browser-related issue, you can connect your bank by logging in to your account through a private window to isolate the issue. This procedure can help remove any cache-related issues that may have caused this behavior. You can save time by using either of the following keyboard shortcuts:

  • Google Chrome: Press CtrlShift N
  • Safari: Press Command Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Press CtrlShift P

Also, I suggest reaching out to your financial institution to check if there's ongoing maintenance on their end or server issues stopping the online bank connection to QuickBooks.

In addition, you can visit this article if you want to manually add transactionsManually add transactions in QuickBooks Self-Employed.

I'll be right here if you need help with anything else or with credit card connections in QBSE. Don't hesitate to reply in the comment section. Take care.

Hi Heide

Thank you for your help.

I did Refresh all => it's still the same issue.

I log in to my account through a private window => it's still the same issue.

I contacted AMEX online. They confirmed there is no issue with their system and my account.

As of now, an error message shows on HOME menu of QBSE
