Lane 5000 Pin Pad updates issues every time I log in.

Are you running into integration problems with Square? I have still been having issues like you and when my subscription is up I will be leaving intuit due to their complete disregard for lack of support. We still use QB desktop for our book keeping, due to my accounting firm relying on them. But even they are looking for alternate options due to the constant headaches and lost time and revenue that QuickBooks has caused them due to down time. 


The biggest headache I have been reading about regarding QB integrating with Square was the recording the daily sales records and QB's doubling them for some odd reason. Also that you were required to use QBO vs desktop. 


As always their response is our engineers are looking into this issues. Yet here we are a year later and still no fix to this issues. Looks like nothing more than a money grab, Buy our products pay us thousands per year and we lie to our customers. I would love to see an SEC / BBB investigation into this company to Audit their books and business practices. If they lie all the time about saying our engineers are working on it and never follow through I'm sure they are lying about their books too because they cant even fix their own software.

So have the engineers made any progress on this issue? That always seems to be the issue just reboot the pin pad, while we work on a solution. Yes the software is up to date, so what is the progress? Is this ever going to get fixed or is your solution just give Intuit and Quickbooks more money to give sub-par software with zero support or updates that actually correct issues in the program? 


Just be honest if its never going to get fixed just be honest and tell the community.

Yes, I have been having the same problems since March 2022 and minor problems before installing the Ingenico Lane 5000.  Here is another thread that talks about it where I posted my concerns:

I have the same problem logging in since March 2022.  I have called the support team so many times and they never fix the issue.  They tell me the log on issue is ongoing and they are aware of the issue and will contact me soon with a solution.  No solution since March 2022.  Losing sales, losing money, losing time.....bad customer service

I called tech support yesterday & did not get a solution that helped. I am on the latest update, we did reinstall pinpad & checked to see if quickbooks needed updating.

 

The fix should not be what I told them was the only thing that was working for me - was hitting control - alt - delete to bring up task manager - to close quickbooks - so it will stop updating pinpad & I can use program.

This update did not help.Hoping they can fix this soon.

Ditto.  The problems with the Lane 5000 have cost us untold revenue over the past year.  I would love to see a class action suit brought against Intuit.

This is unbelievable.  I never was able to get my issue resolved with the Reps @ Intuit regarding the software being stuck in a loop updating the PIN pad when logging in.  I have to log in over and over until POS lets me access the POS homepage and then I have to run a test on the PIN pad to verify it is working to accept payments. 

 

After my last posts in 2022 on various sections of the QWBKS Community pages, I received phone calls from the "overseas" Supervisor that was helping me the last time and the Supervisor from weeks prior.  Both assured me they would keep in contact and that I would hear from them or from a technician and that they were diligently working on my problem.  Needless to say I never heard from anyone again.  I didn't even bother calling back and wasting 2-4 hrs each phone conversation in perpetuity.  I have had extremely limited use of the software at no fault of mine and so have others.

 

NOW, they are discontinuing POS.  Since I purchased the last upgrade for POS and QWBKS financial software at Intuit's behest, to be able continue to use Intuit Merchant Payments Services etc.., I have had nothing but aggravation and loss of sales and damage to my customer base.  I have lost all of the time and money spent trying to use my POS software as well.  And if I want to salvage any of my business information, time and money spent I have to spend additional money with Intuit and/or Shopify.  All with just 3 months notice during my busiest season at my shop.  This is not the right way to treat small businesses or any business/customer.  I have been using Intuit POS since 2007.  I am extremely disappointed in the way they have treated their POS customers to say the least.

 

I am looking at Spotify mainly because it seems the integration would be easier and Spotify will communicate financial data with QWBKS financial software which is why I chose Intuit POS system in the first place.  But it seems everything is going to be subscription based with add on fees.....I am overwhelmed at the thought of re-entering all of my inventory, customer info etc. into a new POS system that may be less expensive than Spotify.  Still doing research since I received the Critical Notice discontinuation email from Intuit on 2-28-23.

 

What are other small businesses doing for POS?

It all makes sense now. No product patching due to a discontinuation of the product. Oh well.

Hi,

I hope this helps....it's a really long email I received 2 days ago.  They only allow one attachment.

Maybe I can do a few posts with one attachment each.  They just blocked me from posting a minute ago because they said I was flooding posts???  I only went to threads I had posted to in the past with people with similar problems to let them know what I was experiencing.  It is the only way to get definitive answers.  We can share our experiences and understand the problem they couldn't resolve.  Guess that's why they are discontinuing POS, that's their solution.  It's sad, I've been a customer for so long.  Hope this post goes up.
