New Invoice May 2024, "Shipping From" Field

The new invoice layout is missing the "Shipping From" field, does anyone know how to add that back? We drop ship materials to our customers direct from out of state manufacturers and we have no inventory. Without the "Shipping From" field, QuickBooks thinks I'm shipping from my office and is now adding an extra 1% tax for the county I live in. I'm 3 hours into chat and phone support with no solution or work around, the only option was to submit feedback. Any help would be appreciated.

I value how important it is for you to have this option in your invoice window, SS182.

Adding the “shipping from” field to the new invoice layout window isn't possible. The updated interface is improving user-friendliness. In the meantime, to change the address associated in the Business address field, click to See the math under Sales tax to get the correct tax calculation.

I encourage you to share your suggestions about adding the “shipping from” field to help us improve your experience with QuickBooks Online and for future software updates.

Here's how:

1. Select the Gear icon, then choose Feedback.

2. Enter your comments or product suggestions.

3. Select Next to submit.

If you need help recording your customer's payment, here's a helpful article you can check: Receive payments.

Community space is always available if you have other questions about your invoice field. Take care.

This work around appears not to work, the See the Math looks different, it shows Business Address and Location of Service. This invoice has a product bundle that combines parts and service on the invoice.

Thanks for the update, SS182. I know why the See the Math feature's Location and Addresses section looks different.

Based on your screenshot, I can tell that you're using the Advanced version of QuickBooks Online (QBO). The Shipping from and Shipping to terms provided above are used in the Simple Start, Essentials, and Plus plans.

The Shipping from field is the same as the Business addressMake sure to keep it updated in QuickBooks for accurate sales tax calculations and payments.

Moreover, to learn what features are currently unavailable and what you can do with the new invoice experience, please see this article: See what’s new with estimates and invoices in QuickBooks Online.

Additionally, once your customer paid your invoice, record it in QuickBooks to balance your accounts. I've added this article to guide you through the procedure: Record invoice payments in QuickBooks Online.

If you have other concerns about the new invoice experience, please feel free to let me know in the Reply section. The Community team will be here to help you once more.

Thank you for the change, QuickBooks has been updated to show 'Shipping From' under locations and addresses and the tax is calculating.

Is there an option to add the 'shipping from' field back to the front invoice interface, either below or instead of 'ship via' or 'tracking'? It would be great to have the same efficiency as the previous version.

New Invoice May 2024, "Shipping From" Field

Welcome back to the Community, @SS182. I acknowledge the necessity of adding the shipping from field on the invoice interface for easy access in QuickBooks Online (QBO).

Since navigating to this field isn't yet possible on the invoice interface, we can submit feedback directly to our product development team. This will allow them to assess the importance of implementing your suggestions for future enhancements:

  1. Go to the Gear icon.
  2. Select Feedback.
  3. Enter a brief description of your product suggestion.
  4. Click Next to submit feedback.

You can also check out the latest features in estimates and invoices on the new user experience. Additionally, you can start recording your customers' payments to ensure your records are up to date when your customers make their payments.

If you have any inquiries about invoicing or other QuickBooks-related topics, feel free to reply on this thread. I wish you continued success in all your business ventures.
