I've been having an issue the last few months where I print a paycheck and go through the whole process, but once QuickBooks saves the check and moves to a "new" check, its marking the previously printed check for "Print Later" which is not recording the check number. I need to go back to the check after saving and leaving the window, uncheck the "Print Later" checkbox, adjust the check number (because it just keeps incrementing up) and save again. I've tried everything to get this to stop, but I'm stuck with these extra steps. I've submitted bug reports for months as well, but no one has responded or attempted to fix the issue.
Let’s run the Verify and rebuild tools to resolve the error you're having in printing your checks, @wireman121.
The Verify Data will identify any data issues within your company file. Then, the Rebuild tool will self-resolve it. Check the steps below:

None of these solutions worked for me. I am unable to find a way to communicate as you described from within QuickBooks...
Hello, @wiseman121.
Thank you for following the troubleshooting steps provided above. In this case, if it's not data damage or a PDF issue then it could be caused by a broken application. I suggest to Uninstall Quickbooks and reinstall with a Clean Install. Please follow the instructions listed below.
After this has been completed please run the Clean install tool before installing QuickBooks back to the PC.
Click Here to install the Tool Hub. After the installation has completed here is a screenshot to assist with locating the clean install tool.
When running the clean install please select the correct version of Quickbooks that you are using. The example is shown below.
Once this has been completed please reinstall QuickBooks. To Install QuickBooks, you will need your license number and the product number to complete the installation.
If you need any more assistance, I'm only a click away.
