It's broken. It's been broken for a BUNCH of us for WEEKS, now. They know it's broken.  They just aren't doing anything much to fix it.  We are all just waiting....

Welcome to the wait.

Someone should be along shortly to tell you to empty your cache, use incognito, or a different  browser.  That has yet to work for ANY of us.  They may even suggest that you reach out to support.  Support will tell you it's fine. (It's not.  We all know this)

Good luck!!

Let me provide some info about this matter, @herblady.

At this moment, there’s an ongoing investigation about using keyboard Tab key on any transaction. I recommend contacting our support team to get your company listed as part of the affected ones. Rest assured you’ll receive a notification once the resolution is rolled out.

Here’s how:

  1. Click (?) Help.
  2. In the Search tab, select Contact us
  3. Enter in the field "unable to tab through the fields in writing checks."
  4. Select Continue.
  5. Choose Request that we call you back or Get the phone number to call our support line

In the meantime, you can use your mouse to click on the fields. Otherwise, after getting the issue on the line one, click on one of the fileds before the first category line and press tab until the first line. This way, line will no longer compress.

When everything is good, you can use this reference to write and enter checks: Create and record checks in QuickBooks Online. It also include idea on how to print one.

Don’t hold back to drop a comment below if you have any other questions about writing a check in QuickBooks. I’ll always be here to help. Keep safe!
