We can only add flat amounts of bonus pay types in QuickBooks Online. As a workaround, you'll want to consider adding another hourly pay type to calculate the amounts automatically.
Here's how:
- Go to Payroll, then select Employees.
- Click Edit payroll items.
- Select the New Payroll item button on the top right of the page.
- Select Pay type, then select Hourly as the pay type. Name it anything you want.
- Click Assign employee(s).
- Select all the employees you wish to, then click Next.
- Fill in the Rate per hour with $0.5, then select Save.
Once you run a payroll, you can add the hourly bonus rates by filling in the hours worked under the hourly bonus column.
Currently, the option to restrict an employee from clocking in early and receive a notification when they punch in/out late or early is unavailable. There are only certain notifications that QuickBooks Time currently supports. You can find these in the Company Settings, then go to the Notifications tab. In the meantime, you can explore 3rd party time management apps that best suit your business needs
