date on timesheet

The day of the week is correct on the timesheet entry window but the date is off by 1 day. Is anyone else having this issue or do you know a fix?

date on timesheet

Hello there, @bhweiner1. Let's work together to ensure the date on your timesheet gets corrected in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT) for Mac.

To start with, let's make sure that your time tracking setup is correct in QuickBooks. Let me walk you through a seamless process:

  1. Go to QuickBooks, then click Preferences.
  2. Choose Time Tracking, and make sure that Keep Track of Time is checked.
  3. Select from the First Day of Work Week list the first day of your workweek. Note: Each weekly period begins with the day of the week you choose. Close and reopen it to reflect the change.

For detailed information, kindly visit: Enter timesheet in QuickBooks Desktop for Mac.

However, if the steps above still generate the same result, this could have something to do with damaged data. I recommend performing some troubleshooting steps to help find and fix the most common data issues in your company file. Here's how:

Verify your company file data: This will scan your company file for errors or data damage.

  1. In your QBDT file, click on File, then select Utilities.
  2. Select Verify Data, then select OK to close all windows. If you see Your data has failed the integrity check you need to rebuild your file. If there are no problems with your data, you’re done.

Rebuild your company file: This fixes errors or data damage that's found.

  1. In your QBDT file, select File, then select Utilities.
  2. Select Rebuild Data, then select OK to close all windows.
  3. QuickBooks will ask you to make a backup before rebuilding your company file, select OK. If you don’t want to do a backup, select Cancel to continue rebuilding your company file
    a. If you haven’t set up any backup preferences, QuickBooks will ask you to update them. Select Backup Preferences and edit as needed, then select OK.
    b. When the backup's finished, select Show in Finder to locate the backup or select OK if you’re done.
  4. Once the rebuild's finished, select OK.

I understand the need to resolve date discrepancies on timesheets, bhweiner1. Allow me to share additional insights to help you correct these date entries.

Since troubleshooting possible data damage didn't work on your file, you'll have to manually edit and change employee entries one at a time. This way, the employee time is accurate when running their payroll.

If you require additional assistance handling these changes, we recommend contacting our Customer Care Team to ensure you're guided with real-time assistance. Also, they have the necessary tools to review your account and further provide additional resolution.

Here's how to reach them:

  1. Go to the Help menu and select QuickBooks Help. Then, click Contact Us.
  2. Enter a brief description of your issue and select Continue.
  3. Sign in to your Intuit account and click Continue. Then, select Continue with my account.
  4. We'll email you a single-use code. Enter your code and select Continue.
  5. Select to chat with us or Have us call you.

Moreover, I've included this reference to help you prepare timesheets for paychecks: Create and print timesheets. It also entails steps on how to create a timesheet data report.
