Hello! our QB Time Kiosk suddenly stopped working two days ago. After going through firewall logs and packet capture, we found that the app is now going through UAE, which was blocked by our geofilter on the firewall.
Is there a list of IP addresses or URLs we can specify so our next-gen security firewall can lock that down? Specifically, if UAE is required for mobile app Time Kiosk, we need those addresses or URLs. We are seeing IP addresses in the 18.161.6.x range, registered as Amazon.
Hi, @ITengineer2. It's a pleasure to have you in the Community today.
I've got you covered. Let's work this out so you can complete your tasks managing your QuickBooks Time Kiosk and its firewall settings in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
Additionally, QuickBooks Desktop does not come with a predefined IP address, so you will need to set it up manually.
It is essential to ensure that your firewall and security systems are up to date for regular updates and security compliance. Additionally, regularly review alerts or logs to monitor app behavior or IP routing changes.
Lastly, examine your network configuration to determine if any changes can affect QuickBooks Time Kiosk's connectivity. Collaborating with your IT department is essential to implementing the required modifications effectively and securely.
Likewise, you can refer to this article for guidance on adding and managing your team members. Additionally, discover the settings and permissions for QuickBooks Time team members:

@ShaniamarieC "TTheuickBooks Time Kiosk application tries connecting using IP addresses in the 18.161.6.x range, which is linked to Amazon's infrastructure. To ensure proper functionality, please allow these IPs in your firewall settings."
Call me technically illiterate, but I'm pretty sure that @ITengineer2 already knew the range of IP addresses, and was asking for more specific details.
Also pretty sure that they are their IT department, judging by the name.
Hi, yes I am the IT engineer / department. Router config has not changed recently. In doing a packet capture and monitoring logs, we saw the device contacting UAE. Once I allowed Amazon UAE servers today, the app started working.
We do not deem this as a secure solution, and it is a recent change within QB infrastructure. I need to know what IP range or URL i can use to SPECIFY QB services ONLY, and not an entire list of countries. We will also NOT whitelist ALL amazon servers.
We need info on required ports and IP / FQDN for secure access to continue.
Thanks for the prompt reply, @ITengineer2. Let me route you with the best available support to obtain the exact IP range or URL needed to configure your firewall settings seamlessly.
We have a separate forum where you can interact with our product developers, product experts, and engineers regarding software, QuickBooks API concerns, or developer license-related questions.
