Approvals Report Glitch?

I use the Approvals Report every pay period to approve reported times on numerous jobs we perform throughout the pay period. I do this day-by-day, in other words, I select and view one day at a time for approval. I target a particular day when I have all the job files for that day, and once the customer has been billed, I then approve the time for that job. Some files are finished sooner than others so I bounce around on the days throughout the pay period quite frequently.

What I have noticed is that entire days become approved for employee’s time even though I haven’t even looked at those days. My best guess is that if I approve some time on say the 24th of the month and then jump to the 27th and approve times on that day, everything in-between those dates seems to get approved as well (even though those days/times have not been reviewed).

This appears to be a glitch to me. I’m not sure if this is the best place to report it, but perhaps there’s a better way to handle this process. Any advice is appreciated!

Approvals Report Glitch?

Thanks for providing enough details of your concern, Alpha. That behavior seems unusual.

The unapproved time shouldn't show as approved in the Approvals report. Unapproved time will still be visible in the All and Unapproved sections, but their status should correctly remain as unapproved.

To isolate this behavior, let's use a private browsing window. Cached files in your browser can sometimes cause unusual behavior. To open a private window, use the appropriate keyboard shortcuts. This helps isolate potential browser-related issues and ensures a smoother experience.

  • Google Chrome: Ctrl Shift N
  • Safari 11 or newer: ⌘ Shift N
  • Mozilla Firefox: Ctrl Shift + P
  • Microsoft Edge: Ctrl Shift P

If it works fine, I recommend going back to your original browser and clearing its cache to start fresh. If the same things happen, use another supported browser

To generate only the approved time entries, make sure that you access the Approved section and apply the appropriate date filter. This will display the approved time records exclusively.

  1. Go to the Approvals menu.
  2. Select Approved.
  3. Click the Report Filters.
  4. Set the details needed and appropriate date.
