Voice prompt for QuickBooks Time

My field techs have to start and stop time during their drive to and from job locations.  To do this, they have to pull off the freeway each time.  Are there voice prompts for QBT whether it be through Siri, or a 3rd party voice reading application?

Voice prompt for QuickBooks Time

I'll share some details about finding a program to use a voice prompt in your QuickBooks (QB) Time program, @pitilidie.

QuickBooks integrates with hundreds of third-party software developers. While I’m unable to recommend a specific app, you can look for one outside the QuickBooks program that has a voice reading tool and allows integration with QB Time.

You may also see customer reviews to help you decide which app best suits your business type and needs.

Moreover, here are some resources to learn more details about managing permissions and company settings in QB Time:

Voice prompt for QuickBooks Time

Thanks Kevin, unfortunately I've lost quite a bit of time trying to find voice software that will work with QBT, but maybe I have another idea...

Is it possible to schedule when your time will start?  So if I open the app, can I tell the app to clock in for me in an hour?  That way, I'm able to set that up before I begin driving and my time card will start without me having to stop and manually start it.

Thanks!

I'm here to provide clarity on setting a schedule in QuickBooks Time, pitilidie.

Yes, you can schedule your time in QuickBooks Time by assigning the Schedule option. However, you'll have to manually clock in and clock out to record the working hours.

To create the template:

  1. In your QuickBooks Time company, navigate to the Schedule menu on the left panel and select Full.
  2. Tap the Week drop-down and choose any of the following: DayWeekMonth.
  3. After setting up shifts to a weekly schedule, click the Save Week as Template button.
  4. Enter the name of the template and press the Save button.

To utilize the template, simply hover the Load Week Template and pick a template. Refer to this article to gain more insights about the process: Create, use, and manage weekly schedule templates for QuickBooks Time.

Our developers are always open to user input and ideas for adding new features and improving QuickBooks Time. I recommend submitting requests to integrate the automatic clock-in feature into the program. Follow these steps to send feedback:

  1. Click the question mark icon and choose Suggest Idea.
  2. Type a brief description of the feature you wish to add to the program.
  3. Press the Send Idea button to submit.

Thanks for the quick response, but unfortunately, that's like making a reservation for a rental car, only to get there and find out that they're out of cars because they don't actually hold the car for you.
