Accounts Receivable

I have deleted two invoices that were past due yet the amount still shows up in my accounts receivable. How do I remove the amount (that has been written off) from AR?"

Accounts Receivable

Hi there, gerald-boston98.

Let me help you delete invoices. Before we start, are you using QuickBooks Online? If so, you can try logging out of your account and signing back in.

This will help refresh QuickBooks and ensure those two invoices are deleted. Then, open the Accounts Receivable Aging Detail report and check if the transactions are still there.

Here's how:

  1. Go to Business overview then select Reports or go to Reports.
  2. Find and open an Accounts Receivable Aging Detail report.
  3. From here, you can see if those invoices are still showing up.
  4. If so, you can open and delete again those invoices.

On the other hand, I can see that you're tagging this post in QuickBooks Self-Employed. This version doesn't have an Accounts Receivable report. All of your open and completed invoices on the Invoices menu. This is where you can print invoices, export them as PDFs, and send reminders for ones that are overdue.

In addition to this, QuickBooks uses browser cache and cookies to run faster. But sometimes these can also block web pages from delays. Hence, you can delete your browsing history t load websites faster on your next visit.

Follow the steps to clear cache for your browser.

After clearing browser, make sure to restart it for changes to take effect. To have the best and most secure experience with QuickBooks Online, use a supported, up-to-date browser.

Also, I'm adding this article to know what will happen when you remove an invoice or other transactions: Void or delete transactions in QuickBooks Online.
