You can create up to five subaccounts for each parent account in QuickBooks Online. I'm including some steps below to help walk you through the process.
- In the Account Type ▼ dropdown, select the account type.
- In the Detail Type ▼ dropdown, choose the detail type.
- Enter the name of the account, then add a description.
- Click on the Is sub-account checkbox, then enter the parent account in the Enter parent account ▼ dropdown.
- Tap on the start date of your opening balance in the ▼ dropdown. Then, enter your opening balance in the Account balance field.
- Select Save and Close.
