After I edit an estimate, how do I view the previous versions?

It’s great to see you in the Community, ies4258.

When you edit an estimate, you’ll no longer be able to see the original version of the transaction. For example, if you updated the amount or the line items, the Transaction List will show the updated information. However, if you wish to view the original amount, let’s run the Audit Log Report to see the transaction history.

Here’s how:

  1. Go to the Gear icon at the top of your company to choose the Audit Log.
  2. Click on the drop-down for Filter to sort the data.
  3. In the Events section, make sure to select the Show All Events option.
  4. Set the correct date and click on Apply.edit estimate.pngedit estimate.1.png

Here’s an article that provides more insights about the tool: Use the audit log in QuickBooks Online.

However, if you converted the estimate to an invoice, you’ll still be able to view the previous transaction (original). Let’s go to the customer’s Transaction List page to check it.

  1. Tap the Sales menu on the left panel and choose Customers.
  2. From there, select the one you’re working on.
  3. Press the Transaction List tab and then click the estimate to view the details.edit estimate.2.png

I’m also adding a link to help you in the future. It contains resources to guide you on how to easily manage your company’s income and customers: Sales and customers.

Don’t hesitate to leave a comment below if you have any other concerns. I’ll be around to answer them for you. Enjoy the rest of the day.
