An ATM was used to receive money to pay a Restaurant bill. How toI record that as a transaction?

Let me help record this transaction in QuickBooks Online, @lschwartz3648.

To start, we can create a petty cash account. Petty cash is a convenient supply of cash you can use to pay small expenses. 

Here's how: 

1. Go to the Gear icon ⚙ and then choose Chart of Accounts.
2. Select New.
3. From the Account Type drop-down▼ menu, choose Bank.
4. From the Detail Type drop-down▼ menu, select Cash on hand.
5. Enter Petty Cash for the account name.
6. You enter the opening balance when you move money from the checking account by transferring funds. If you already have money to use for petty cash, enter the amount in the Balance field, and select the as of date.
7. Once done, click Save and Close.

Then, let's create a bank transfer. I'll show you how: 

1. Select the + New button.
2. Under Other, select Transfer.
3. From the Transfer Funds From drop-down menu, choose the bank account that the funds are coming out of.
4. From the Transfer Funds To drop-down menu, select the bank account the funds are being deposited into.
5. In the Transfer Amount field, enter the amount being transferred.
6. Edit the Date.
7. Once done, click Save and close or Save and new.

Lastly, create an expense using the petty cash account.
