My bank is requesting a CSV export in a specific format:
Check Number
Date
Payee
Amount
Bank Acct #
Every day they are requiring this report. How do I do this in QB Desktop? I have tried a customized report, and it gets close, but it keeps putting the date after each check.

@caseyjco RE: Every day they are requiring this report. How do I do this in QB Desktop?
It sounds like you're sending a positive pay / secure check file to your bank.
To to this easily and quickly, use our BRC PositivePay file Creator - QB Desktop
It supports many banks, creating files according to the bank specifications. It also supports creating custom file formats. If your bank isn't listed on the page linked to above, we can probably add it to the list of banks, which is something we do regularly.
Welcome to the Community, @caseyjco. I’ve come to provide some insights regarding your concern with managing your data.
CSV files are simple text files with tabular data. The file's fields are separated from each other by commas. Although you may generate and edit CSV files with any text editor, such as Notepad, the majority of spreadsheets support this format.
If you don't have MS Excel installed on your computer, or if you wish to view and edit your data in a different format, you can export a list as a CSV file. I'll show you how:
From there, we can now be able to locate, open, and edit the file as needed.
For more details about this process, please review this article: Import/export CSV files.
Also, here's a handy resource that may come in handy in transferring your data into QuickBooks Desktop: Import and export data in QuickBooks Desktop.

Do you need to generate a bank statement report with the following template
Bank Account | Transaction Date | Payee | Chk No. | Account | Amount | Memo | Class | Billable | Billable Entity |
Checking | 01/09/2020 | AT&T | 123 | Utilities:Telephone | -100 | Check Payment | N | ||
Checking | 02/09/2020 | Jane Doe | 141 | Product Sales | 150 | Deposit | N |
You can utilize an exporter tool

Hi,
Thank you, I'm familiar with how CSV's work - I'm trying to figure out how to get the specific fields requested so it can be one click to run daily, with their requested export values in CSV format. Is there a way to choose which columns from the check export list?
Hi, caseyjco.
Let me share some information about exporting specific fields in QuickBooks Desktop (QBDT).
At this time, this feature isn't available, you can manually edit the exported CSV file or you'll have to visit our QuickBooks Desktop Apps to check for a third-party application.
Additionally, I've added this article to be able to access these custom reports and save them in QBDT: Create, access and modify memorized reports.
If you have other questions about exporting reports in QBDT, I'm happy to answer them for you. Have a good one.

What if the csv option is not there? I have QuickBooks online and I only have pdf or Excel options but I need csv.
I appreciate you for sharing your concern in the Community, @PBentley83. I'm here to share some information on how CSV files work in QuickBooks Online (QBO).
To fix this, you can export a report to Excel from QuickBooks and save it as CSV so you can import the transactions from an Excel spreadsheet.
To import a spreadsheet into QuickBooks, you'll need to format it correctly. Check this article as your reference in preparing your CSV entry: Format CSV files in Excel to get bank transactions into QuickBooks.
When your file is formatted correctly, follow these steps to upload them into QuickBooks Online.
Nonetheless, I recommend performing some basic troubleshooting steps. This way, we can eliminate common errors that occur in their company files. A stored cache can usually cause this kind of issue. Let’s rule this out by using a private window or incognito:
Check the page after logging into your QuickBooks Online account. Manage your clients once the page loads correctly. To solve the problem altogether, clear the cache in the default browser.
To complete the procedure, close any open browser windows after the prompts are finished. This will update your browser's cache with new, accurate information. Since they don't use the data from the already-existing webpage, you can also use another supported browser.
Please let me know if you have any other questions while importing your transactions to QuickBooks. I'll be right here to provide additional assistance. Keep safe!
RE: I'm here to guide you to locate the CSV file option and import the transactions in your QuickBooks Online (QBO).
Did you even read the thread? It s not about importing a CSV file into QuickBooks, either Desktop or Online. And the customer you replied to did not ask about importing a CSV file into QuickBooks.
Maybe if you read the thread, then you'll know what it is about. Just a thought.
@PBentley83 RE: What if the csv option is not there? I have QuickBooks online and I only have pdf or Excel options but I need csv.
Well, if you have Excel then you can open a report exported to Excel and then save it as a CSV file. That might work.
However, if you're trying to use a Secure Check/Positive Pay feature your bank offers, it is probably easier to use our BRC PositivePay file Creator - QB Online You can try it in free trial mode for 30 days to see if it works for your bank. If your bank isn't on the list, we may be able to quickly add it for you.
Just a thought...that's not helpful.
@BigRedConsultingI appreciate that your company has created the Positive Pay report, and we'll probably end up buying it, but I shouldn't need it.
It is absolutely infuriating that QB Desktop won't let you create a simple CSV with transaction information all on the same lines.
Who on Earth thought it was a good idea to put a subtotal for every single check on a line below the check with the Banking -> check detail report? It's absurd.
I can't run a 1099 report and export to CSV without it puting the TIN on a separate line from the names. I mean, why would you do that?
I have discovered a way to create a "Positive Pay" report from Quickbooks Desktop - mostly. It does everything you need except that it uses the "Vendor Name" field instead of the "Print Name on Check" field. If you have to have the Print on Check field, you'll need to use @BigRedConsulting 's solution.
Here goes:
When you write checks, go to your memorized report and run it for the day you just wrote them for
Again, this will get you most of what you need, but if you need the name printed on the check instead of the vendor name, you'll need to change those fields by hand, our buy @BigRedConsulting 's Positive Pay creator here:
