Best way to convert non inventory to invetory

Thank you for your response, @CBPP.

I found out that you've posted a similar concern on the other thread. Please know that my colleague SarahannC has already addressed your question regarding converting the inventory part.

Regarding your inquiry about deactivating all items and creating new ones, I want to emphasize that this action would result in duplicated entries within QuickBooks Desktop, adversely impacting your financial reports. Unfortunately, the software doesn't offer a filtering option for data migration. Consequently, once your data is transferred to QuickBooks Online, all items will be carried over.

For your last question, I'd agree with your practices. Doing this will keep your financial records up to date-and accurate. If you're seeking advice on essential accounting practices, I recommend consulting a professional advisor. They possess the expertise to guide you in maintaining impeccable bookkeeping.

It's worth noting that transitioning from QuickBooks Desktop to QuickBooks Online might lead to variations in how your records appear. To better understand how your data shifts between these platforms, you can refer to this informative article: Learn how features and data move from QBDT to QBO.

Please feel free to continue the conversation in the comments below should you require further assistance in managing your data. We're here to provide guidance and support whenever you need it. Wishing you a great day ahead!
