Budget in QB desktop 2022 pro plus

I'm thinking to chage my QB desktop 2018 to new version.

Could you tell me wether QB pro plus 2022 has feature of making budget?

I found the list of features of QB pro plus 2022 but I'm confused because this site QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2022 Accounting Software | QuickBooks (intuit.com) and this site QuickBooks Desktop, Compare QuickBooks Pro, Premier and Enterprise | QuickBooks (intuit.com) shows features differently.

Thanks for getting back to this thread, @system. Let me chime in and clarify things for you about budgeting and forecasting in QuickBooks Desktop.

For your first question, you can see in the article provided by the previous agents that the budget system is possible in QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2022. It may not show a specific product, but the page provides general information that all versions of QuickBooks Desktop can set up and create a budget. Meanwhile, you can only use forecasting in QuickBooks Desktop Premier, Accountant, or Enterprise.

Aside from that, I've also replicated this on my QuickBooks Desktop Pro 2022, and the feature is available. Please see the screenshot below:

For your next question, the simplest way to differentiate the two is that a budget is a goal or intention, while a forecast is your latest prediction of whether you’ll reach that goal. For more information about the distinction of the two terms, you may utilize and read this resource: Budgeting Versus Forecasting

Additionally, I've added this article to help you generate a budget report to help you track and review last fiscal year's financial statement: Understand reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

I hope that clarifies everything. If you still have uncertainty about the budget and forecast feature, feel free to get back to this thread. I'll be happy to help you again. Keep safe!

It's my pleasure to provide some good news to you, @system

In QuickBooks Pro Plus 2022, you have the option to set up budgets. This feature will help you plan and make smart business decisions.

You can create next year's budget from scratch or use last year's Profit and Loss data to start one. Here's how:

  1. Go to the Company menu.
  2. Select Planning & Budgeting and choose Set Up Budgets.

  3. Click Create New Budget.
  4. Set the fiscal year for the budget, then select either Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet. Then select Next
  5. If you choose Profit and Loss, you can add additional criteria, such as Jobs or Class tracking.
  6. If you select Profit and Loss, select either Create budget from scratch or Create budget from the previous year's actual data.
  7. Once done, click Finish.

For more details, you may check out this article: Create a budget or forecast in QuickBooks Desktop.

You'll want to review your budgets and forecasts created in QuickBooks, please refer to this resource: Run reports.

In addition to that, if you wish to update the software to Desktop Pro Plus 2022, please make use of this link: Upgrade your company files after you switch to a new version of QuickBooks Desktop

Hello,  san

Thank you for your reply. I'm happy to hear that QB desktop pro plus 2022 has budget feature.

But I'm still confused because this site QuickBooks Desktop, Compare QuickBooks Pro, Premier and Enterprise | QuickBooks (intuit.com) shows pro plus 2022 doesn't have "forecasting" feature.

Hi there, system.

Allow me to share some information about the QuickBooks Desktop feature.

To add some clarification, the Forecasting feature are available in QuickBooks Desktop Premier Plus 2022 and Enterprise 2022.

The main difference between the three is that Pro is designed for small businesses, Premier for medium businesses, and Enterprise for large businesses. As such, each plan progresses in terms of available users and features.

For more information about this program together with the complete lists of functionality that are available in the system, please see this article: Choose your QuickBooks Desktop product.

Here's an article about budgeting and forecasting in QuickBooks Desktop: Create a budget or forecast in QuickBooks Desktop.

Just in case, you may find this resource page for future reference in case you want to learn more by accessing all your forecast reports in QuickBooks Desktop.

I'll be right here to help you out if you have any other questions or concerns with the features. Have a lovely day!
