Hello there, userbecky.
The ability to copy price rules in QuickBooks Online (QBO) isn't available. I understand how this feature greatly assists you in effortlessly setting up the same rule for another customer.
And, yes, you'll have to create a new one for each customer. Apart from creating a new price rule for each customer, you can update the price rule you created and apply it to a customer type. All customers added to that type will be subject to that rule. All details entered into the price rule will apply to them. If you consider doing this, you can follow these steps.
Step 1: Create customer type:
- Go to the Sales menu and select Customer.
- Click the Customer types button and choose New customer type.
- Enter name. Then, Save.
Step 2: Apply the customer type to the appropriate customers:
- Go to the Sales menu and select Customer.
- Click the customer's name. Or select New customer if you haven't recorded the new ones.
- In the Additional info section, click the Customer type drop-down arrow and choose the type you created.
- Hit Save to reflect the changes.
Step 3: Update rule:
- Go to the Gear icon and select All lists.
- Find the rule and select Edit.
- In the Customer field, select the customer type you've setup and other details needed.
- Click the Update Rule to reflect the changes.
