Can I establish a price rule for a Bundle?

Hi there, @keenanbain.

I'll share with you some knowledge about establishing price rules in a bundle in QuickBooks Online.

Currently, we're unable to establish a price rule for the specific bundle. What you'll need to do is to create a price rule for each item that has been included in the bundle.

But before doing that, make sure the price rule feature is already turned on. If not, please follow the steps below:

  1. Go to the Gear icon, then choose Account and Setting
  2. Select Sales on the left side, and turn on the radio button perpendicular to Price Rule
  3. Tap Save, then hit Done

      4. Go back to the Gear button, and pick All Lists

      5. Tap Price Rules.

      6. Hit Create Rule, then enter a name in the box.

      7. In the Product and Services drop-down arrow, choose the bundle.

8.Complete the Price adjustment method, Percentage, and Date.

      9. Adjust the price, then click Apply Rule

For more details, check out this article: Set price rules in QuickBooks Online.

After that, let's create a sample Invoice to review how it looks like. See the sample screenshot below for your reference:

I've also added articles about changing item types and handling products & services in QBO.

This was very helpful, but to go to further detail.

Once the rule is set up when making order/invoice, on your rate column you have an arrow going down which allows you to select the price you desire.

So, if you're like me who is trying to give a discounted rate for bundling. This how you would do it.

Sadly, it took me some time to figure this out. I was worried that the discount will be applied when purchase separately but having the option of selecting which rate is needed works too.

What I really wanted is discounting the total bundle price instead individual, but this option is good.

Hopefully, other find this helpful and reduce their time on trying to figure it out.
